Troy Thompson, CFP®. is the founder of Thompson Advisory Services, with offices in San Francisco and Portland. Thompson Advisory Services shows clients how to steward their material resources in a way that supports and reinforces their own goals and values.
Before opening his financial planning practice in 2008, Troy carried on a successful law practice with two global law firms. He has been a trusted advisor and counselor to clients in business, finance and government for over twenty-five years. Troy has particular expertise in state and federal income taxation, and extensive experience defending audits and appeals before the Internal Revenue Service and the California Franchise Tax Board.
Troy is a past president of ACP, an active member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and the American Bar Association, and is licensed to practice law in the States of California and Oregon. Thompson Advisory Services is a registered investment advisor with the states of California and Oregon.
Troy earned his bachelor's degree in American history from Cornell University and his law degree from Harvard Law School. He lives with his wife and two children in Portland, Oregon.
